WELCOME TO HYDROELAS’2006
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee of Hyroelas’2006, I would like to invite you to attend the forthcoming conference to be held in 10-14 September 2006 in Wuxi, China.
During the last two decades, some reconciliation of two distinct research fields, naval hydrodynamics and structural mechanics, has been achieved and a developing branch of science, hydroelasticity in marine technology, has made significant progress and exhibited great importance to wide areas of marine technology. This was reflected in the previous Hydroelasticity Conferences, which were held in Trondheim (1994), Fukuoka (1998), and Oxford (2003).
Following the previous successful Hydroelasticity Conferences, the fourth Conference in Wuxi (Hydroelas’2006) is to promote the development of hydroelasticity in marine technology and advance the design of marine structures by bringing together experts on both hydrodynamic and structural dynamics from various fields of application and encouraging the exchange of ideas and information among various disciplines in science and engineering.
You may find in the programme that the papers to be presented at the conference cover many important topics, such as hydroelasticity-based load and response predictions, hydroelastic unsteady state and transient state problems (whipping, springing, slamming, sloshing, impact, shock etc.), flow induced vibrations, and full scale measurements of variety of marine structures, including ships, very large floating structures, risers, cable and pipelines, fishing nets and cages, and energy extraction devices etc. This indicates that the Conference will surely be creative and productive
